Robber killed in police shooting at service station
A man was shot and killed at the Charlieville Service Station, early this morning.
Officers responding to a report of an ongoing robbery at the station around 2 am, encountered an armed man there.
The suspect, whose identity remains unknown, reportedly fired several shots at the officers, who returned fire.
In an attempt to escape, he fled across the highway.
Police officers who were out on patrol intercepted him.
An exchange of gunfire allegedly ensued, ending in the death of the suspect.
Police say they recovered a firearm and the stolen items at the scene.
