Stuart Young chairs NSC meeting
Acting Prime Minister Stuart Young SC MP chaired a National Security Council (NSC) meeting at Whitehall, this afternoon, the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) has confirmed.
A release in the OPM’s social media pages reports that Minister Young also chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting, which was held this morning. He is acting as Prime Minister while Dr Keith Rowley is out of the country.
During this afternoon’s NSC meeting, heads of the protective services presented their immediate plans and initiatives to confront the violent and intrusive crimes and criminal activity taking place, the OPM’s release revealed.
In attendance at the meeting were Commissioner of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), Ms Erla Harewood-Christopher; Chief of Defence Staff, Air Vice Marshall Darryl Daniel; and Director of the Strategic Services Agency (SSA), Brigadier General (Ret’d) Anthony Phillips-Spencer.
Also at the meeting were Deputy Commissioner of Police Operations, Junior Benjamin; Deputy Commissioner of Police Administration, Natasha George; Deputy Commissioner of Police, Intelligence and Investigations Suzette Martin; as well as Lt. Commander Sherrise Moore and officers of the SSA.
Minister of National Security, Fitzgerald Hinds MP, was present at the meeting, along with other members of the National Security Council.
