He killed his stepson and abandoned his body in a suitcase on the Petare-Guarenas highway

A man identified as Luis Manuel Mejías Indriago, 48 years old, was arrested by authorities for kill his stepson. The Body was found in a suitcase in the Quebrada Seca sector, on the Petare-Guarenas national highwayadjacent to the El Cercado cemetery.

The investigation of the case began on Saturday, June 22, after officers of the Bolivarian National Police assigned to the Criminal Investigation Division and the Anti-Kidnapping and Extortion Division found the body of the child Keyner Saul Pérez, 9 years old, on the side of a public road.

How did the crime of the abandoned child on the Petare-Guarenas highway occur?

Authorities determined that Mejías went to pick up the minor from school on June 19 and took him to his home in the Las Clavellinas sector in Guarenas.

Once in the property, The man became angry with the child because he did not pay attention to him and decided to hit him hard on the head, which caused his instant death.

After committing the crime, Mejías wrapped the child’s body in a duvet and put it in the suitcase, which he then left abandoned on the Petare-Guarenas national highway.

The man fled the scene and He told his partner, the minor’s mother, that the child had been kidnapped.

Authorities interrogated Luis Mejías, who decided to confess to the crime. He was detained by the 21st Prosecutor’s Office of Miranda State.

The murderer was sentenced to 23 years and 8 months in prison for the crimes of intentional homicide qualified by frivolous motives on the part of the perpetrator and simulation of a punishable act.
