The FANB seized 35 cryptocurrency mining equipment

The Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) of Venezuela retained 35 “cryptocurrency mining machines» during a raid in the state of Guáricoreported this Saturday the operational strategic commander of the FANB, Domingo Hernández Lárez.

Through X, he also detailed that the FANB seized 30 extractors, three electric fans, as well as two vehicles that did not have “permits and licenses for their operation.”

Hernández Lárez indicated that the raid was carried out together with officials of the Public Ministry, while reporting that The “procedure” was left to the discretion of this institution.

He stressed that in Venezuela “there is a legal framework that regulates virtual mining activities and the miner registration system (…), virtual exchange houses and other entities dedicated to savings and the intermediation of crypto assets.”

In July, economists told Efe that in Venezuela the cryptocurrency sector faces a series of weaknesses related to services, legislation and education, which plays against its development.

These virtual currenciesthe specialists assured, are basically used in the country as a reserve of value, while their weight in commercial transactions remains reduced and without growth.

In 2022 it did not appear in the ranking.
