La Romain teacher robbed in PoS selling PlayStation
A La Romain teacher was robbed of cash and valuables on Sunday in Port-of-Spain after he went to sell a PlayStation.
The 42-year-old man arranged to meet the online customer whose name was alleged to be Kyle Phillip, at 3.10 pm on August 20.
The two were scheduled to meet at a housing development in Piccadilly, to facilitate the sale of a Sony PlayStation 4, valued at $2,000.
When Phillip appeared, he instructed the victim to follow him up a nearby staircase to an apartment as he needed to plug in the device to ensure it worked.
The victim claimed that while following Phillip, he was grabbed by a suspect from the back and he began struggling with the unknown bandit and Phillip who also joined in the effort to subdue him.
The two men later robbed the victim of the PlayStation, a Samsung A10S cell phone valued at $1,000; $3,000 in cash; his identification card, his driver’s permit and a Republic Bank debit card.
The victim eventually managed to escape from the suspects and made his way to a nearby police station.
