22nd murder for Tobago: ‘Sargie’ killed in shooting, woman injured

One man is dead, while a woman is warded in a serious condition following a shooting in Tobago this morning.

Initial reports indicate that the incident took place around 4am today in Parlatuvier Village.

Residents heard a series of explosions, after which they saw a vehicle speeding.

Another car with a man and a woman was observed nearby.

The police and emergency health services were notified and the injured parties were taken to the Roxborough Hospital.

However, the male victim died while undergoing treatment.

He was later identified as Alvin Daniel AKA ‘Sargie’.

The woman remains warded in a serious condition.

Officers from the Tobago Division as well as the Homicide Bureau are currently on the scene.

This is Tobago’s 22nd murder for the year – a record high for the sister island.
