10 members of the Aragua Train identified in Colorado, USA

  • Sep, Sat, 2024

Authorities in Aurora, Colorado, have identified 10 alleged members of the Aragua Traina Venezuelan criminal organization that has extended its influence to several Latin American countries and, more recently, to the United States. According to the police, eight of these individuals have already been arrested, while the investigation is still ongoing.

The case has raised concerns among local residents and was mentioned during a recent presidential debate discussing security in the city.

However, local authorities assured that they have taken measures to control the situation. They also denied rumors that this dangerous gang has “taken control” of the city.

What does the police say about the members of the Tren de Aragua in Colorado?

In response to growing concerns, Aurora Mayor Mike Coffman and Public Safety Committee Chair Danielle Jurinsky issued a joint statement saying the situation is under control.

“The safety and well-being of our community is our top priority,” they said in their statement. They also noted that the presence of the Aragua Train in the city is limited to certain properties. And that security forces have been working to dismantle their operations for months.

“Aurora Police, in conjunction with local, state and federal agencies, have identified and arrested several gang members, including two individuals involved in a shooting in July,” Coffman and Jurinsky said.

Although the crimes committed by these groups have impacted some specific areas, the authorities stressed that the reports circulating on social media about an alleged total control of the city by the gang are exaggerated.
