Borrell calls Maduro’s government a dictatorial regime

The High Representative for Foreign Policy of the European Union, Josep Borrell, He described the government of Nicolás Maduro as a “dictatorial regime” and recalled the more than 2,000 detainees, the 7 million migrants and the exiled opposition leaders.

“Naturally, this is a dictatorial, authoritarian, dictatorial regime, but by saying so we are not solving anything. What we are trying to do is try to resolve it,” Borrell said in statements to Telecinco collected by Europa Press.

Borrell on the situation in Venezuela

«In Venezuela there are more than 2,000 people arbitrarily detained after the elections. The leader of the opposition has had to flee. Borrell’s remarks come after the controversial presidential election on July 28 in which Maduro was officially re-elected for a third six-year term amid allegations of fraud by the opposition.
