The Ministry of National Security has received a donation of Disaster Management Equipment from the US Embassy.

Minister of National Security, Stuart Young, received the donation of equipment from Ambassador of the United States of America to Trinidad and Tobago, Joseph Mondello, during a Hand Over Ceremony held on Tuesday at the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management (ODPM) in Mausica.

The donation of two Jeep Wrangler vehicles, 96 hand crank radios, 18 Samsung tablets with accessories, and 60 First Aid Kits will assist in Trinidad and Tobago’s National Disaster Response and Recovery operations.

The two Jeep Wrangler vehicles are specially outfitted with off-road capabilities, and will serve to boost the capacity of the ODPM to conduct field operations during emergency and disaster situations.

The 18 tablets will be handed over to the Ministry of Rural Development and Local Government’s Disaster Management Units.
