Edmundo González confirms: he does not recognize the result of the presidential elections
The candidate Edmundo González Urrutia confirmed, through his lawyer José Vicente Haro, that does not recognize the results of the presidential elections of July 28 offered by the National Electoral Council, nor does it comply the decision of the Supreme Court of Justice.
On Wednesday, Chavismo and some media outlets published a letter stating that the opposition leader respected the court ruling that validated the supposed reelection of Nicolás Maduro.
«Edmundo González Urrutia confirmed to me directly that he has not signed any document recognizing the election results emanating from the CNE or the verification established by a decision of the Supreme Court of Justice, dated August 22, 2024,” Haro said in a recent interview.

The lawyer requested that the issues related to the former diplomat be handled with the utmost caution, information be verified and reliable sources be used.

What does the letter distributed by Chavismo say?
The text, dated September 7 and addressed to the head of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, was shared by the Ministry of Communication in a Telegram group. The two-page document has no signatures.
“Always I have been and will remain willing to recognize and abide by the decisions taken by the organs of justice. “within the framework of the Constitution, including the aforementioned ruling of the Electoral Chamber, which although I do not agree with, I abide by because it is a resolution of the highest court of the Republic,” the alleged letter states.
According to Edmundo González, he then expressed his intention to leave Venezuela “in order to consolidate peace and political dialogue” after the presidential and He committed himself to “limited” public activity.
