After a drug addict complaint caused a house fire in Catia

A fire in a house in the Sierra Nevada de Gramoven sector, in Catia, which claimed the lives of three people, including a 4-year-old girl, It had its origin in a complaint. The information was confirmed by Commissioner Douglas Rico, director of the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigation Corps.

Kerlin Dávila, known as Extorción, set fire to the property on September 24 after The owner of the place confronted him for using drugs in the vicinity of the place.

The owner of the recycled mattress warehouse, where the victims were, had complained to Dávila days before for consuming narcotics nearby. The argument escalated and Dávila issued death threats in retaliation.

Complying with his warning, the subject entered the warehouse and caused the fire that ended the life of Yorjelis Caterine Brito, 26 years old; Zaidy Maibel Muñoz González, 22, and Ashley Sofía Álvarez Muñoz, 4. The accident did not give the victims time to escape.

Dávila’s capture occurred days later. He has a history of crimes such as robbery and use of weapons.

Although Douglas Rico did not mention it, it was learned that the owner of the place was allegedly the father of the victims.

«When I woke up I couldn’t breathe, the house was full of smoke. When I go outside, I get the outside of the street on. And nothing, “We tried to put it out with water together with the owner of the home and one of those affected, and nothing, it was too late,” a neighbor told Unión Radio after the tragedy.
