Cummins, Andrew “Drew” Gordon of Minneapolis, Minnesota, died of natural causes on August 4, 2024. Mr. Cummins, a resident of the city for over 50 years, was born in Great Britain in 1952 to Dr. Gordon Cummins and Hyacinth Cummins, both natives of the Caribbean (Barbados and Trinidad & Tobago, respectively). He was raised and educated in Barbados, completing High School at the regionally acclaimed Harrison College. He emigrated to Minneapolis in 1972, studying architecture at the University of Minnesota but changing disciplines to Information Technology. Andrew worked professionally in that field for his entire professional life. Preceded in death by his parents; and younger brother, Christopher Raymond Cummins. He is survived by siblings, Alissandra Cummins (Barbados), Allan Cummins (Minneapolis), William Cummins (Barbados); and niece, Athena Cummins (Minneapolis). Mr. Cummins also leaves behind a large extended family in the Caribbean (Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago and St. Croix), the United States and Canada and several lifelong friends in the United States and Barbados. Mr. Cummins will be interred, and a memorial gathering will be held at Lakewood Cemetery on September 25th at 2pm. May he rest in peace.
