In the operation, carried out by nearly 400 members of the Investigative Police (PDI), in coordination with prosecutors from the Organized Crime and Homicide Team, they raided around 69 homes in Limache, Villa Alemana and Viña del Mar.

The deputy director of Police and Criminal Investigation, Hugo Haeger, reported that during the operation 34 people were arrestedMost of them were Venezuelan citizens, although the network also included Chileans.

The investigation revealed that members of the Aragua Train cell operating in these regions, through extortion, violence and intimidation, took over public places in Viña del Mar to sell drugs and carry out other illegal activities.

Authorities were also investigating the commission of possible homicides – both completed and attempted -, other violent crimes and money laundering.
