Arrests and seizures made in anti-crime operations
Officers arrested a man and seized a firearm and ammunition during an anti-crime exercise in the Northern Division, yesterday.
The operation took place in La Horquetta between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM. Officers detained a 42-year-old man from 15th Avenue, Greenvale, La Horquetta, at his home. They did not say what the suspect was wanted in connection with.
Another suspect at the house escaped when he saw officers. However, they chased after him and later apprehended him. They seized a revolver and three rounds of .38 ammunition.
Both suspects were arrested and taken to the Arima Police Station.
In a separate incident, officers conducted a Roving Stop and Search along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway and Beetham Highway. They arrested a 28-year-old man from Arima for possession of 550 kilograms of cannabis.
