Cases of breast cancer in women under 40 years of age are on the rise, warned the Foundation to Fight Breast Cancer (Funcamama).

Diagnoses are seen in vulnerable women from the age of 32, said Jorge Uribe, representative of the Barquisimeto Moms Clinic. The situation leads to recommending that women take the exam even before turning 30 years old.

Previously, mammography was recommended starting at age 40.“But we at the clinic reviewed our database and found nearly 2,500 patients and 15% were under 40 years of age,” Uribe warned during the launch of the Breast Clinic run and walk.
