Children of Eduardo Labrador ask Maduro and Saab for their release
The four children of university professor Eduardo Labrador, detained more than a month ago, they publicly requested the release of their father in a letter addressed to the administration of Nicolás Maduro and Attorney General Tarek William Saab.
The deputy of the Legislative Council of the state of Zulia was arrested on October 18 by the Regional Police. His whereabouts and state of health are unknown to his family.
“Since the date of our father’s police arrest we have experienced days of anguish, concern and fear, since, to date, November 19, 32 days later, we have not known with certainty where he is detained, how he is, if “has taken his medications and what are the charges for which they detain him and completely isolate him,” reads part of the letter.
The Labrador siblings, Stephenie, Layneth, Eduardo and Manuel, request the release of their father, argue his innocence and highlight his record of non-violence and respect for the Constitution.
Before the distressing situation they liveask for a humanitarian review of the case of Eduardo Labrador.
The brothers added: “We have asked the competent authorities, the Public Ministry and the Courts, to provide us with information about his whereabouts and requested that he be allowed the due right to defense and to be able to see him.”
