Cilia Flores’ brother is appointed as the new director of Saime
Guison Fernando Flores, brother of Cilia Flores, was appointed by the government of Nicolás Maduro as the new director in charge of the Administrative Service for Identification, Migration and Immigration (Saime).
Through the Official Gazette 43016 On November 27, 2024, the State made the appointment of Flores official, who replaces Gustavo Vizcaíno Gil.
Vizcaíno, who served as director of Saime since 2018, was appointed comptroller general of the Republic on October 31 and took office on November 6, 2024.
Who is the new director of Saime?
Guison Fernando Flores held different positions in public management in the governments of the late Hugo Chávez and Nicolás Maduro.
In 2002 he was named the fortieth notary public of the Libertador municipality of the Capital District; Later he was a deputy and vice president of the Venezuelan group of the Latin American Parliament, according to Poderopedia.
Between January and September 2005 he held the position of general director of the Office of the presidency of the National Assembly, then chaired by Nicolás Maduro. Then, in January 2011, he served as Parliamentary Legislative Investigator II.
In June 2013 he was general manager of Litigation, as a manager in the Attorney General’s Office and later as deputy attorney.
His promotion continued in January 2015 when he was appointed deputy controller, a position he held until he was replaced by José Javier Morales six months later.
