Police killed two men in Sou Sou Lands, Tobago on Monday.
According to the police, at 6:08 pm a team of officers attached to Shirvan Road Police Station intelligence team and the Criminal Investigations Department received information regarding armed men wanted in connection with reports of several shootings.
They went to a guest house located in Sou Sou Lands, entered the apartment and identified themselves as police officers, following which two men, armed with firearms, pointed their weapons in the direction of the officers.
Offices fired back.
Both injured men were conveyed to the Scarborough General Hospital but were pronounced dead upon arrival.
The two firearms, a AR-15 rifle with 29 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition and a revolver with four rounds of .38 ammunition were seized.
