Couva man, 25, held with gun, ammo at Chaguanas bar

A 25-YEAR-OLD MAN from Couva who was liming at a bar in Chaguanas before dawn with a loaded gun tucked in the waist of his pants has been arrested.

The police said around 4 am on August 17, PCs Rambahal and Howard were on patrol in the Chaguanas district when they got a tip-off and went to the In De Shade Bar at Railway Road.

There, they searched the suspect from Milton Road, Indian Trail Village in Couva, and found a Taurus gun with a magazine with 12 rounds of 9mm ammunition.

The police arrested and took him to the Chaguanas Police Station.

He is expected to be charged over the weekend.
