Cumuto/ Manzanilla MP distributes books and stationery to 200 children ahead of school reopening

Dr. Rai Ragbir, MP for Cumuto/Manzanilla, encouraged children  in his constituency to dream big and pray, emphasising that they can achieve anything they set their minds to.

Dr. Ragbir spoke at a book and stationery distribution event for primary and secondary school students held at his office at the corner of Guaico Tamana and Eastern Main Road, Sangre Grande, on Tuesday. He told  them not to feel discouraged by their circumstances, and to work hard to overcome all obstacles.

“Never give up because you don’t know what God has in store for you,” he said.

Reflecting on his own experiences, Dr. Ragbir shared that he grew up in poverty. His family’s board house had leaks, and his mother had to use plastic to keep the rain out. He remembered focusing on his studies despite the challenges. “I never imagined becoming a doctor. This shows that everyone has a future from God. Just believe and stay focused,” he advised.

He said the only fight they must engage in is the fight to be a better person; and the only thing they must “beat” is books.
