The health of former representative Dignora Hernández – detained since March 20 in Caracas – is at risk due to severe allergies that have worsened in the last week, opposition leader María Corina Machado warned this Friday.

Hernández, political secretary of the party Vente Venezuela (VV)“presents angioedema and urticaria of a week’s duration,” according to the training report, which considers the situation “worrying,” as she is “a patient with severe allergies.”

In this regard, Machado, leader of VV, recalled that the former deputy has been detained for 198 days in the cells of the Bolivarian Intelligence Service (Sebin), accused of alleged violent plans related to the presidential elections of July 28.

«She is hypertensive and for days she has had severe allergies that are getting worse and can lead to a serious respiratory complication. We demand urgent and qualified medical attention that has not been received so far,” said Machado, who called for a “global alert” for this situation that threatens Hernández’s health.

They ask that Dignora Hernández be treated by doctors

In addition to Machado and his party, human rights organizations and the main opposition coalition – Democratic Unitary Platform (PUD) – joined a campaign on social networks to request that Hernández’s health be attended to by doctors as soon as possible or that she be released from prison. , because they consider her a political prisoner.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the former deputy was involved in plans to “force” the registration of Machado’s presidential candidacy, elected in primaries as the standard bearer of the PUD, but disqualified from competing due to a sanction from the Comptroller’s Office, so she ended up supporting Edmundo González Urrutia.

Hernández is part of the total of 154 opposition politicians who remain deprived of liberty, after having been detained in weeks before and after the elections, whose official result – designated as fraudulent by the PUD – gave re-election to Nicolás Maduro.
