San Juan East Side Symphony has been declared the winner of Saturday’s Panorama 2025 National Single Pan Band Finals at Queen’s Park Savannah.
Pan Trinbago announced the final results on its social media pages yesterday.
“The highly anticipated Single Pan Band Finals competition concluded with San Juan East Side Symphony emerging as the champion, delivering an electrifying performance that captivated both judges and audiences,” the announcement read.
“This thrilling event celebrated the artistry and passion of the steelpan, showcasing the immense talent within the Steelband community. Congratulations to the winner and all participants.”
For the competition, the band performed The Guns, earning 284 points. Chord Masters Steel Orchestra placed second with Swing Engine, scoring 276 points, while Metro Stars Steel Orchestra took third with Disco Daddy, earning 272 points.
The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Arts congratulated the winners and all participants, celebrating the Steelpan fraternity’s achievements and highlighting the recent increase in government funding for unsponsored steelbands and players ahead of Carnival 2025.
Last week, Cabinet approved an increase in funding for unsponsored steelbands and steelpan players. For single-pan bands, grant allocations increased from $7,500 to $10,000 per band.
In a release from the Ministry of Tourism, Minister Randall Mitchell said, “I extend heartfelt congratulations to the San Juan East Side Symphony and all exceptional performers at the National Panorama Single Pan Band Finals. Thank you for your consistent demonstration of the extraordinary talent and dedication to our steelpan and our unique cultural landscape.
