Eastern Lawyers Association takes free legal aid clinic to Arima

The Eastern Lawyers Association held another free legal and health clinic at the Arima Community Centre on Anglican Street, Arima, this past Saturday.

Residents of Arima received free legal aid and health care, including blood pressure tests and dengue screening.

Arima Mayor Balliram Maharaj said he was pleased with the large turnout of young attorneys representing the association. “It’s rare to see this level of dedication, and the lawyers deserve commendation for their initiative,” he said.

He encouraged the attorneys to continue helping those in need, noting, “When you give with one hand, you receive with the other.”

Attorney Jairam Seemungal, a former government MP,  praised the clinic’s success as well. 

He thanked all the supporting agencies for their contributions, which helped make the event a success.
