Edmundo González denounces the violation of human rights in Venezuela

After denouncing the violation of human rights in Venezuela, González Urrutia said that these actions will not change what he called the “defeat of the dictatorship” in the last presidential elections. The Venezuelan opposition presented documents insisting that the standard-bearer of the Democratic Unitary Platform won the electoral process with more than 60 votes.% of the votes.
“It is clear that none of these atrocities can erase the fundamental political fact that was the defeat of the dictatorship on July 28. This fact invalidates any excuse that Nicolás Maduro may present to perpetuate himself in power,” he stressed.
He added: “The Venezuelan people have spoken with complete clarity. Our political prisoners currently number around 2,000. They are true heroes of democracy, and as such we must honour them. Their sacrifice, as well as that of millions and millions of Venezuelans, will not be in vain. Together we will make the mandate of July 28 a reality. Venezuela will once again be free and live in democracy.”.
