Edmundo González thanks the Netherlands for its support
The opposition leader Edmundo González Urrutia thanked this weekend for the support of the kingdom of Netherlands to the fight for the return of democracy in Venezuela.
González Urrutia, held a meeting with Marcel de Vink, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Netherlandson Friday in The Hague, as part of his international tour to strengthen global support for the fight for democracy in Venezuela.
Through a message posted on X, thanked the Netherlands for “reaffirming and demonstrating its commitment against the repression, persecution and violation of human rights in Venezuela.”
The opposition leader, who was sheltered in the Netherlands Embassy in Caracas, assured that he will keep them updated on the situation in the country.

This Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands expressed its support for the fight led by González Urrutia to restore freedom in Venezuela.
«The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marcel de Vink, welcomed Edmundo González (…) continues to fight bravely for democracy and human rights in Venezuela. The Kingdom of the Netherlands supports their efforts, as well as those of María Corina Machado, which are crucial,” reads a publication from the Dutch diplomacy in x.

In a second message, they expressed their concern about the increase in repression by Nicolás Maduro’s administration.
«The Netherlands will continue to press for the restoration of democracy in Venezuela through a peaceful transition. The will of the Venezuelan people must be respected,” they added.
