FANB arrested a man for attempted theft at PDVSA in Monagas

Venezuelan soldiers arrested a man in Monagas state for allegedly attempting to steal “strategic material” from the state-owned oil company Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA)reported this Sunday the operational strategic commander of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), Domingo Hernández Lárez.

Through his social networks, the official explained that, within the framework of the ‘Oro Negro’ operation, a drone overflight was made in which They located three subjects inside one of the oil drills PDVSA in Monagas. Therefore, the military and members of the security agencies began a “hot pursuit”, and one of the men was arrested.

What happened between the FANB and Pdvsa Monagas?

Hernandez Larez He did not offer further details about the other two people who were seen by the drone.

“(The) FANB is deployed throughout our republic, providing security and custody to the strategic facilities that provide well-being to the Venezuelan people,” he added.

Since 2022, the Prosecutor’s Office has intensified its fight to sanction or penalize all those “people or groups” who seek to “destroy” the facilities of state-owned companies, such as the electricity company Corpoelec, the National Telephone Company of Venezuela (Cantv), Hidrocapital (hydrological company) and the oil company Pdvsa.

In February of last year, Attorney General Tarek William Saab reported that since 2017, until then, 12,485 people had been arrested for “stealing” and trafficking “strategic material” obtained after the dismantling of equipment and facilities of PDVSA and public service companies.
