Farley Augustine on Morris-Julian’s death: “This is heartbreaking”

Tobago House of Assembly Chief Secretary Farley Augustine has described the death of Minister in the Ministry of Education Lisa Morris-Julian as devastating.

In a WhatsApp message to Guardian Media this morning, Augustine said, “Oh My!!!!!!!! This is heartbreaking. This is devastating news for her family and friends no doubt. The entire Tobago House of Assembly wishes to extend condolences to her family and friends. Our prayers are with her family at this time.”

Morris-Julian and two others tragically lost their lives in a house fire early this morning at her Farfan Street home in Arima. Firefighters are still at the scene, and details surrounding the blaze are yet to be confirmed.

The news has shocked Tobagonians who took to social media to send condolences to the family and the government. Minority Leader Kelvon Morris and PNM Tobago Political Leader Ancil Dennis were among those expressing sadness.
