The Vice Minister of Comprehensive Care for Venezuelan Migration, Pedro Sassone, assured this Wednesday that they are exploring mechanisms to send passports to those migrants who requested their renewal in nations where Venezuela does not have representation. consular.

During an interview with FM Center es Noticia, Sassone admitted that the situation represents a challenge for the Venezuelan community abroad, especially in countries such as Argentina, Costa Rica, Chile and Panama, where diplomatic offices stopped operating after the breakdown of relations. .

Sassone explained that this measure depends on the authorization of the governments of each country to be able to deliver the identity documents to the affected migrants. “We will find a way to deliver the passports to Venezuelans,” he stressed, while pointing out that, on previous occasions, such as when he was ambassador to Ecuador, he managed to coordinate a similar operation.

However, he clarified that the execution of these procedures falls mainly on the Administrative Service for Identification, Migration and Immigration (Saime), an entity that, according to the official, has already designed policies to resolve the problem. problem.
