Greene Jr, Lopez reign in Sando

Elisha Greene Jr continued to rule the saddle as the T&T Cycling Federation (TTCF) Youth Developers Track National Championships as he rode to three national titles on the Velodrome at Skinner Park in San Fernando on Saturday.

The Unattached Junior won the Under-13 boys’ three-lap Scratch Race ahead of Hummingbirds International’s Tyler La Foucade and Rigtech Sonics’ Ryan Sheppard.

Greene Jr also took the U-13 boys’ two-lap event with Sheppard and la Foucade switching places for silver and bronze, respectively.

And to cap it off Greene Jr, Liam McNish and Ky-Rhys Solomon-Modeste took gold in the Boys Team Sprint in 47.70 seconds. Rigtech’s Reon and Ryan Sheppard and Tyler Titte were second in 48.74, Vapor Wake MultiSport’s trio of Taariq Guevara, Elijah Christopher and Josiah Modeste was third in 49.39. He was on the podium a fourth time for a bronze medal in the Boys’ Team Pursuit four-lap.

Melina Lopez did one better when she won four titles on Saturday.

She captured the U-13 girls’ three-lap Scratch race ahead of Scarlett Thorne (Arima Wheelers) and Demaya Prince (Vapor Wake) and the U-13 girls’ two-lap ahead of Thorne and Lisa-Joe Boodhoo (Rigtech).

Lopez joined the Madonna Wheelers/(Arima Wheelers Mixed team, which included Xhariya Alexander, Thorne and Lashay Nimblett, to win the girls’ team pursuit three-lap in 1:58.89 and the girls’ team sprint alongside Nimblett and Ashlee Soo Hon.
