Heavy rains collapse Greater Caracas

Social media users reported collapse in Greater Caracas due to the heavy rains this Monday afternoon.

Roosevelt Avenue, before the La Bandera terminal, was flooded. The Altamira interchange was flooded and affected traffic on the Francisco Fajardo highway there. Images of Nueva Granada Avenue also showed the effects of the rainfall in the city.

Which areas were affected by the rains?

In El Recreo, users of the social network X pointed out that there was no way through in front of the Traki store. Casanova Avenue is also flooded. El Cementerio and El Valle were also seriously affected. On the Pan-American Highway, near Coche, the rains caused obstruction.

In El Paraíso, Prado de María, Petare and El Llanito they also warned of affected areas.

Precipitation is forecast for the next few hours

The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (Inameh) indicated in its report at 6:30 pm this Monday that “rapidly evolving convective cells are observed, accompanied by rainfall of varying intensity and occasional electrical discharges, in areas of Nueva Esparta, Sucre, northern Anzoátegui, northwest Miranda, La Guaira, Capital District, Aragua, western Falcón and Lara, northern Trujillo and Zulia. Conditions that are expected to persist for the next three hours.”
