Hyatt Regency says a statement announcing a decision to cease accepting TT dollars was prematurely posted on its Facebook page and is “inaccurate.”

In a statement to Guardian Media, General Manager of Hyatt Regency Trinidad, Michael Hooper, said, “A message regarding cashless payment options at the Hyatt Regency Trinidad hotel was prematurely distributed with inaccurate information. At this time, we will not be implementing any changes to our payment process. We wish to apologize for any confusion or inconvenience caused.”
Earlier on Saturday, a statement on the hotel’s Facebook page said effective November 1, the Hyatt Regency in Port-of-Spain will stop accepting TT dollars.
The post was deleted shortly after.
In the original post, the hotel said it will accept US dollars, pound sterling and euro dollars.
