The journalist Jesus Medina Ezaine left for Colombia on September 15after his release was revoked a few months ago.

The journalist explained that the 31st trial court of the Metropolitan Area of Caracas, in charge of Judge Shirley Páez, made the decision. For this reason, and ensuring his safety, he decided to leave the country.

Ezaine explained that the measure is unfair, since he had received an acquittal sentence on June 20 without the Public Prosecutor’s Office having appealed, much less within the period established Organic Code of Criminal Procedure.

He added that This fact marks a precedent in what he called “terrorism and judicial persecution”as he reported that the minutes, audio and video of the final trial had disappeared.

To do this, they claimed “an incident due to alleged non-attendance” by Ezaine. In response, they ordered the process to be repeated from scratch.

“The order would respond to Diosdado Cabello Rondón and Tarek William Saab “I was declared in a state of judicial defenselessness and I will not attend the date of the new summons to trial from scratch on September 18. It should be noted that there will be no contempt because I won my trial. They don’t know what they did!” he said.
