Kidnapped boy, 12, found safe

Twelve-year-old Prince Burke has been found safe.

The boy was kidnapped by a close male relative this morning.

No other details have been revealed regarding the circumstances regarding his release.

Earlier today a massive rescue operation was launched in the hills of Dibe, Long Circular and included police officers and soldiers.

Police said the 33-year-old suspect allegedly took the boy with him as he fled after stabbing his wife, the child’s mother.

She has since been treated and discharged from hospital.

Guardian Media understands the incident occurred around 5:30 am today, during which the suspect and the woman are believed to have been involved in an argument that escalated into physical violence.
