Machado and González express “relief” for releases

Opposition leaders María Corina Machado and Edmundo González Urrutia expressed their “immense relief” for the release of political prisoners detained in the framework of the post-election protests and stated that it is “a step towards repair” of victims of human rights violations.

Through his account on the social network Criminal Forum.

“All Venezuelans share immense relief for each political prisoner who returns home and the joy of their families at being able to hug them again,” he wrote.

He stated that those released are “heroes of this long and painful struggle”who “have unjustly suffered irreparable harm.”

«The love and bravery of his relatives, as well as the rigorous work of human rights defenders, inside and outside Venezuela, made his release possible. Everyone deserves full freedom and not to continue at the mercy of these judges of terror«he stressed.

Machado and González demand the release of all political prisoners

At least 107 political prisoners, who were held in Las Crisálidas and Yare III, in Tocorón and Tocuyito, were released early this Saturday, after the announcement of a review of 225 judicial cases.

For González Urrutia, the release of these citizens is “a step towards reparation for the victims of human rights violations.”

«Venezuelans deserve real justice, a change that ends arbitrary arrests as a general and systematic attack (…) We cannot forget that they were unjustly detainedthat they spent months in undignified conditions, that they were denied their right to self-defense, that they were accused of being terrorists,” he said in a message published in X.

The Venezuelan diplomat, who according to the published minutes the opposition would have won the presidential elections of July 28, which the Electoral Power attributes to Nicolás Maduro without presenting results, extended his “word of recognition to the tireless effort and commitment of victimsorganizations, family members and human rights defenders.

He assured that “they have deafened the world with their cry for justice” by bravely confronting state terrorism.

However, he recalled that “there are still more than 2,000 people waiting for justice,” so they must continue fighting. «Everyone know that as long as there are Venezuelans unjustly detained, our fight does not end. Justice and freedom for all political prisoners!«he asserted.
