Machado and González show solidarity with the victims of Hurricane Milton

The standard bearer of the largest opposition coalition in Venezuela, Edmundo González Urrutia, and the leader María Corina Machado This Thursday they expressed their solidarity with the victims of the destructive effects that it produced the passage of Hurricane Milton in the state of Floridawhere at least a dozen people died.

«To those who have suffered know that you are not alone. Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this process of rebuilding and recovery. Their bravery and resilience are an example for all of us,” they expressed in a statement signed by both and published in X by Machado.

Machado and González ask to extend a hand to Venezuelans

Opposition leaders called on “those who have managed to stay safe” extend “his hand and his heart towards the Venezuelan brothers, as well as citizens of other nationalities who are also facing adversity at this time.

“Together we can build a network of support and solidarity that provides hope and helps those who need it most,” they manifested.

Hurricane Milton caused deadly tornadoes and severe flooding in Florida, where more than three million users still remain without electricity, in addition to causing damage estimated at up to 60,000 million dollars.

This Thursday, the hurricane became an extratropical phenomenon in Atlantic waters, 320 kilometers east-northeast of Cape Canaveral, on the west coast of the North American state.

The center of Milton will continue to move away from the east coast of Florida and will pass north of the northwestern Bahamas this afternoon, indicated the National Hurricane Center (NHC, in English) in its most recent bulletin.
