Maduro is wasting resources in the Anti-Fascist Parliamentary Forum, opponents criticize

Venezuelan opponents criticized this Monday that President Nicolás Maduro is “wasting” resources in the World Anti-Fascist Parliamentary Forum, which started this monday and will conclude on Tuesday, an event in which more than 300 legislators from 70 countries participate, according to the government.

The two-time presidential candidate Henrique Capriles questioned that pensioners, retirees and public workers “have gone almost three years without receiving salary adjustments to solve the deep economic crisis they suffer,” while – he lashed out – Maduro is “wasting economic resources in another propaganda act.”

“How much is this costing Venezuelans?” he asked. Capriles in X, and stated that “workers, retirees and pensioners continue to go hungry.”

On the same social network, the former governor of the state of Táchira (west, bordering Colombia) César Pérez Vivas pointed out that the forum is “another parapet” to “continue wasting and wasting Venezuela’s money.”

Antifascist Forum

The National Assembly (AN) – controlled by Chavismo – organized this forum as part of an “offensive” against actions of the “ultra-right”, after parliaments recognized the opponent Edmundo González Urrutia as winner of the presidential elections in the Caribbean country, in which Maduro was proclaimed re-elected president by the electoral body.
