Maduro responds to Petro: “Everyone who has spoken badly about Venezuela has dried up”
After the Colombian president Gustavo Petro questioned democracy in Venezuela and questioned the popularity of Chavismo, Nicolás Maduro responded that he will continue to defend sovereignty against all those who seek to speak ill of the country in the world.
During an event for the election of “justices of the peace,” Maduro questioned that “there are many people in the world who try to label Venezuela, as if they had the right to label Venezuela or get involved in internal affairs.”
«Do we get involved in the internal affairs of other countries? Ah, but from other sides they believe they can get involved in internal affairs,” he said.
Maduro says he will “fuck in the face” those who talk about Venezuela
The Chavista president assured that the projects in Venezuela are chosen by the communities. «What is that called, dictatorship or democracy? So that those who still have ears can listen,” said Maduro.
Petro declared in an event that in Venezuela “they no longer know if it is democracy, they no longer know if it is a revolution, the people no longer love them,” referring to the government.
Given this, Maduro stressed: “The best way to defend our sovereignty, our dignity and our honor is exercising popular power and giving shit to those who spend their time talking nonsense about Venezuela in the world.”
Maduro assured that everyone who has messed with Venezuela “drys up” and that the country will continue its course with joy despite the comments in the international community.
«Everyone who has messed with Venezuela has dried up. Everyone who has spoken badly about Venezuela has dried up. “Anyone who today speaks or intervenes against Venezuela and its democracy will dry up and the people will continue on their path happily and in joy,” he said.
Gustavo Petro questions the popularity of Chavismo
During a speech at the IV Open Science Forum of Latin America and the Caribbean (Cilac) 2024, held in San Andrés, Petro said that the late Venezuelan president Hugo Chávez did not understand that a transition from oil to clean energies had to be made to face climate change.
«They make fun of the president who says in Colombia, let’s leave oil and coal, because it is the path of social inequality and death; Chávez did not understand me very well and Look what is happening to Venezuela, they no longer know if it is democracy, they no longer know if it is a revolution, the people no longer love them.«, said Petro.
He also criticized that in Colombia they mock the migration of more than 1.5 million Venezuelans, which he said They have a higher educational level than the Colombian.
«Why do they have a better educational level? Because that government dedicated the oil money to the university, to knowledge, to the university for the people and it was not wrong, but here we close the universities, we leave them without a budget,” he said.
