Maduro’s bonuses are not enough

Andrés Velásquez, national leader of La Causa R, condemned the low amounts that workers receive in bonuses. He denounced that before the government of Nicolás Maduro, the profits were enough for different expenses.

“Regarding the payment of bonuses, we remember that Before Maduro, with our tools you could make hallacas, pernil, arbolito, paint the house, housewarmings and gifts of our boys and even to change appliances. But today that misery is not enough for anything,” the opposition leader published in x.

How much bonuses are paid to public sector workers?

The government of Nicolás Maduro began on Thursday, October 10, the payment of the first month of bonuses for active and retired public sector workers.

Said payment is made through the Patria System to public banks, according to information published through the official Patria Digital channel on Telegram.

The amount of bonuses that public workers will receive will depend on the position they occupy on the salary scale corresponding to the State payroll.

Carmen Teresa Márquez, president of the Venezuelan Federation of Teachers (FVM), revealed that The payment of a month’s bonus for teachers is approximately 506 bolivars (just 12.9 US dollars according to the official exchange rate).

The executive secretary of the Federation of Health Workers (Fetrasalud), Pablo Zambrano, described as outrageous the amounts of bonuses that workers in the sector received.

Zambrano indicated that The nurses received amounts equivalent to $15.66 at the official rate of the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV) and the cleaning workers about 9.44 dollars.
