Maduro’s days are numbered
Rick Scott, senator for the state of Florida, held a conversation with Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado on Tuesday after the House of Representatives approved a bipartisan bill that prohibits the United States from hiring people linked to the illegitimate government of Nicolás Maduro.
“I had a great conversation with María Corina Machado about our fight for a new day of freedom in Venezuela and updated her on the approval of my Bolívar Law in the House,” Rick Scott reported on the X social network.
In the same message, the senator celebrated that signs are already being seen that Maduro’s days are numbered and assured that he will continue fighting in the United States Senate until his oppression ends.
What does the Bolívar Law imply?
In particular, the Bolívar Law approved earlier this week prohibits the United States government from hiring anyone who has business operations with the illegitimate government of Nicolás Maduro.
Likewise, this legislation, which must pass through the Senate, also prevents the hiring of people who do business with any successor government of Venezuela that is not recognized as legitimate by the United States.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela has shown its “categorical rejection” of the approval of a bill that “has shamelessly placed the acronym Bolívar on it, in an offense against the greatest genius in American history, who “He dedicated his life to defeating imperialism and colonialism, anti-values contained in this new criminal attack.”
These measures have coincided with the recognition by the United States government of the Venezuelan opposition candidate, Edmundo González, as president-elect after the presidential elections, in which he faced the current president, Nicolás Maduro.
«The Venezuelan people spoke out forcefully on July 28 and named Edmundo González president-elect. “Democracy demands respect for the will of the voters,” the secretary of the State DepartmentAntony Blinken.
