Man arrested in Zulia for falsifying identity cards and selling them on Marketplace

Officials of the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigation Corps (CICPC) A 21-year-old man was arrested in Zulia state for falsifying identity cards and selling them through the virtual store Marketplace.

After an extensive investigation carried out by the Coordination of Investigations of Crimes Against Property of the Maracaibo Municipal Delegation of the Cicpc, the agents located the citizen, identified as Jinny Rebolledo, in the Campo e Lata sector, La Concepción parish, Jesús Enrique Lossada Municipality, Zulia state.

Rebolledo modified and falsified identity cards of different people to create virtual bank accounts of a well-known banking entity, in order to use them to receive funds improperly stolen from the Patria platform.

Then, through the virtual store Marketplace, he sold the identity documents to third parties, yet to be identified and detained, so that they could carry out criminal acts on the different virtual platforms, according to a Cicpc press release published on its networks.

The officers seized his cell phone, which, after being subjected to special tests, was determined to be the one used for criminal negotiations.

The man was placed at the disposal of the 13th prosecutor of the Judicial District of Zulia state.
