Man critical after motorist drives car into him

An Enterprise man remained hospitalised in a critical condition yesterday after he was struck by a car, during a fight outside a bar in the early hours of Saturday.

The man who lives at Lendore Village, Enterprise, and a female friend from Cunupia, were reportedly liming on the road near the Liquor House Bar, Enterprise Main Road, around 5 am on August 17, when a fight broke out in the group.

It was alleged that a man who lives at Chin Chin Road, Cunupia, sped off in a blue wagon as the fight continued, striking both victims.

The male victim was said to have sustained serious injuries to his head and body, while the woman was treated for a sprained right ankle and bruises to her right leg.

An 18-second recording of the incident posted on social media by a by-stander showed several women fighting on the road, while a group of men attempted to part them.

The suspect was seen driving in an erratic manner before ploughing into the group.
