María Corina Machado condemns adolescent trial
The opposition leader María Corina Machado condemned this Thursday the passage to trial of the seven teenagers arrested during protests against official results of the presidential elections, that give Nicolás Maduro as the supposed winner. The Chavista regime accuses them of terrorism and other alleged crimes.
«How much evil can there be in a person and in a regime to torture children and young people? It doesn’t matter what they have done; and these only demanded their right to be free,” Machado expressed on the social network X.
And he added: «These seven boys are our children. “What they have done to them, with the aim of terrorizing all young people and their parents, is the greatest reason we have as a society to intensify our fight.”
The leader, who defends the victory of Edmundo González in the July 28 elections, asked that the actions of the Nicolás Maduro regime be strongly denounced and stated that Nobody can think that Venezuela will be the same after these events.
«My heart goes out to their mothers. I hug you with all my soul. We will heal your wounds, physical and spiritual; whyWe are going to free them all. Afterwards, they will continue to grow in a country that will respect their human dignity and their admirable courage in these hours,” he said.

They showed signs of torture
The adolescents, from the state of Carabobo and whose ages range between 15 and 17 years of age, face accusations that include terrorism, incitement to hatred, obstruction of public roads and resistance to authority.
During the preliminary hearing, It was revealed that the teenagers showed signs of torture. This generated rejection and concern among his relatives and human rights defenders.
Relatives have reported mistreatment and abuse during the weeks that the minors have been detained.
Judge Keidimar Ramos Castillo offered a reduction in the sentence if the teenagers pleaded guilty, but they rejected the offer, opting to face a full trial.
