Mary Pili Hernández: We have to apologize to the youth because we are leaving them a worse country

Mary Pili Hernandez, former vice minister of Hugo Chávez’s governmentrecently stated that Your generation must apologize to all young Venezuelans for the current situation that the country is going through.a crisis that greatly affects future generations.

In an interview with journalist Kico Bautista for Globovisión, the former Chavista militant acknowledged that her generation is responsible for the political situation that Venezuela is experiencing.

“I am very sad, very ashamed. I believe that our generation, who have had political and media responsibilities, are obliged to ask for forgiveness from the young people of our country,” admitted Hernández.

“I think we have to apologize almost on our knees to the youth because we are leaving a worse country.“Not only from an economic point of view, as is already known, but a worse country from an institutional and legal point of view, the Constitution is violated every day as if it were something normal,” he stated.

Also rejected the arbitrary arrests of young people in the context of the post-election protests.

“Some of these young people commit acts of vandalism and then they accuse them all of being terrorists. “Some boys knocked down a statue of Chávez, that hurts me, but I can’t say that they are terrorists,” said the former official, who has held several important positions during the governments of Hugo Chávez and Nicolás Maduro.

Mary Pili Hernández assured that an accusation of terrorism means that there is a plan or agreement between several people to commit harm to the nation, to cause terror.

“Those little boys who went out to protest did not know each other, they had not planned those events,” he added.
