At least 11 kidney patients from a clinic located in the La Concordia sector of San Cristóbal were left without dialysis this Friday after the blackout which was recorded from 4:50 am throughout the national territory.

Mr. Simon Jaimes has been a kidney patient for two months and this Friday he was waiting for his turn to enter the machine area to have his dialysisHowever, the shift that was scheduled for 10 in the morning was moved to 2 in the afternoon because The health center does not have a power plant.

He said that in the dialysis unit there are three shifts, one that starts at six in the morning and ends at 9:30 am and another that starts at 10 in the morning, “but it turns out that today, due to the electricity issue, there was no dialysis in the morning for those who had to be dialyzed today, to leave it after six in the evening today, meaning they lost their shift in the morning.”

He indicated that he traveled from the town of Rubio at 6 in the morning and arrived at the unit at 8:50 am, he had to wait until 2 in the afternoon to undergo dialysis, he specified that there are between 10 and 11 machines at the site to care for patients, however, There are some that are useless due to lack of spare parts.

He said that at one point he thought about returning home because the electricity was restored after 10:30 am.
