Officers nab three, a pistol and marijuana

Three persons were arrested and a firearm and quantities of ammunition and marijuana seized, by officers of the North Central Division, during intelligence-based exercises conducted on Thursday. 

During one exercise, officers of the Arouca CID intercepted one black Mazda 3 motor vehicle in the Tacarigua district with one male driver around 8:50 pm. 

The man was found to not be in possession of a driver’s permit or certificate of insurance and it was subsequently discovered that he had been disqualified from driving. 

The 26-year-old of Arouca is also a priority offender. 

Meanwhile, the same party of officers proceeded to Thomas Trace, Arouca, where they conducted a search of an abandoned shack around 9:40 pm. 

The search resulted in the discovery of one pistol loaded with a magazine containing 10 rounds of ammunition. 

And, acting on intelligence officers proceeded to an apartment building in Dinsley Village, where they arrested two male suspects, ages 37 and 41, for the possession of 22 packages containing 13.64 kilogrammes of marijuana.
