Opposition “Misinformed,” Says Young

National Security Minister Stuart Young has strongly criticised the Opposition Leader for bringing, what he says, is “misinformation” to Parliament during her response to the 2021 Budget.

He said Mrs. Kamla Persad-Bissessar’s Budget Response showed the UNC’s lack of understanding of the energy sector and other aspects of the economy.

In terms of the energy sector, Minister Young said the Opposition Leader uttered several “falsehoods.”

He revealed that Government will open negotiations with one of the big players in the energy industry this week.

Minister Young was particularly dismayed by the Opposition Leader’s comments on National Security.

He pointed out that Government has implemented legislation in several areas, including domestic violence.
