Opposition Refuses To Support Anti Gang Extension



The National Security Ministry is warning that there will be “serious negative effects” on the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service’s ability to fight gangs and criminality, after the Opposition failed to support the continuation of the Anti Gang Act.

The Bill, which was seeking to extend the Act by 30 months, did not receive the majority support it needed after all Opposition Members abstained from voting.
