OPVs TTS Scarborough And TTS Port of Spain Arrive From Australia

The TTS Scarborough and the TTS Port of Spain Offshore Patrol Vessels have arrived from Australia.

The Office of the Prime Minister shared a video of the vessels on their Facebook page a short while ago with the caption “Welcome Home.”

The Cape Class Coast Guard vessels officially departed Western Australia on Tuesday June 1st and were transported via heavy lift ship, the BBC RUSHMORE.

The Ministry of National Security at that time said the two vessels, built by Austal, were expected to arrive in Trinidad and Tobago in six to eight weeks, depending on weather conditions along the route.

The addition of the Cape Class vessels will strengthen the capabilities of the T&T Coast Guard in the areas of border security, search and rescue, protection of critical energy infrastructure, as well as counter trafficking.
