Overload caused an explosion in Venalum cells

An explosion was recorded at one of the headquarters of the state company Venalum, in the state of Bolívar, on the afternoon of Friday, August 30 during the blackout that affected more than 20 states of the country.

Images of the explosion were captured in a video posted on social media in which workers warned about the “disincorporation of more than 10 active cells”according to local media reports Caroni Mail.

“Some explosions were reported at the CVG Venalum plant due to an overload. The situation is under control. There are no injuries so far,” the media outlet said on the social network Instagram.

Blackout affected more than 20 states in the country: the second since 2019
