Authorities said a Princes Town man is currently warded in a critical condition after he allegedly threatened a 40-year-old man and his family.

The incident took place around 9pm yesterday along Suchit Trace in Las Lomas.

The victim was said to be in the living room of his home with his family when they heard a strange noise coming from one of the bedrooms.

Police were told the noise sounded like windows being broken.

The 40-year-old man went to check on the sound and saw a man known to him in the bedroom.

The suspect confronted the victim armed with a cutlass and knife and said, “I come to kill yuh tonight and then yuh whole family.”

This led to a scuffle, resulting in the victim sustaining a “planass” to his chest and falling to the ground.

The suspect continued by stabbing the victim several times to the back of his head, however, the 40-year-old fought back.

The scuffle continued to the kitchen area where the victim escaped from the suspect and reached for his kitchen knife and dealt the suspect several stabs about his body before collapsing to the ground.

Relatives at the home notified the police and a team of officers led by PC Ram responded.

Both injured men were taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mt Hope where they were treated.

The suspect, police said, was stabbed to the right chest, head, and back.

He is expected to be questioned once he is medically cleared.

The 40-year-old suffered injuries to his face, right chest and left shoulder.

However, his injuries are not said to be life-threatening and he is expected to be discharged later today.

PC Ram is continuing enquiries.

More on this as it becomes available.
